A Third Parent

Hello Zoa fans. Zoa has been busy this last week enjoying her new honorary third parent, the Exersaucer. Special thanks to Don and Debi for this entertainment center that makes cooking, cleaning, eating, etc. much easier for Zoa's parents.
In addition to non-stop playing and bouncing in the exersaucer, Zoa has made great strides towards crawling. Last night she was able to move forward by pushing off with her knees and feet. It is not elegant yet, but it is definitely the beginning. She has also started to try and pull herself up to a standing position. Unfortunately, she has tried on objects, such as her music table, that tip under her weight. However, with me holding the table steady, she was able to successfully pull herself up this weekend. Her other new trick is a weird clicking of the tongue, followed by sticking her tongue out. The linguist in me thinks that she most be experimenting with some phoneme of an African click language, as American English certainly has no such sound. However, since she has never been exposed to such a language, we have determined that she is just a weirdo doing it for her own amusement, and possibly ours as it inspires much laughing.
Well, those are the lastest happenings at Dodson Manor. Zoa seems to be developing so fast lately and has so many new abilities that I am going to try to be better at posting to the blog. So, stay-tuned for more exciting Zoa-related developments.
