Smart as a whip

So, I am choosing to ignore how long it has been since my last post. Suffice it to say, we have been busy.

tonight we were marveling at how smart Zoa is. I guess that even though I have been around 2 year-olds before, they never seemed that amazingly brilliant. I never realized how much they can remember and how much they can talk. Tonight we were reading this book "Little Cloud" that chronicles the different shapes that the little cloud forms. Zoa had me read it about 4 times, but then wanted to read it to me and Brian. She picked up the book and turned to the page where the cloud was in the shape of a plane and said, "change into plane." ("Little cloud changed into an airplane" is the original). Then she repeated the formulaic pattern of the book with the rabbit, shark and clown as she flipped through the different illustrations. it was like she was reading it to us. Then, after she saw the shark, she remembered that Brian had shown her pictures of sharks in a National Geographic about 2 weeks ago, so she got off of our bed, went over to the magazines, and picked up the magazine with the sharks in it and wanted Brian to show her the pictures again. We were just amazed at the connections she made and at her memory too.

This past weekend, she dyed Easter eggs and had a short Easter egg hunt inside. It was freezing here (still is) over the weekend, so going outside was not an option. She finished finding the Easter eggs I hid in about 1 or 2 minutes, so next year, I will definitely have to make it a little harder. The Easter Bunny also brought Mr. Potato Head, which has already created hours of enjoyment. Here are a few pics from Easter, and some old pictures of my parent's visit last month.
